The task
Grow a Telegram channel’s subscriber base with paid traffic so that the base pays for itself instead of sitting as an expense line. Project without brand disclosure. The difficulty of the niche is that a subscription brings no money by itself — ROMI depends on whether the audience is monetized after subscribing.
What we did
Ad campaigns on YouTube via Google Ads with traffic to a Telegram channel subscription.
Results
- Ad budget — $992
- Subscribers — 606
- Cost per subscriber — $1.64
- ROMI — 125% in the first month

Insights
- 125% ROMI in the very first month: a subscriber returned their cost immediately, whereas investment in a subscriber base usually pays back over a horizon of several months.
- $1.64 per subscriber from YouTube is a price at which the channel can be scaled without a cash gap: every new round of budget is financed by the income from the previous one.
- YouTube / Google Ads is a working source of Telegram audience outside of buys within the messenger itself: competition for inventory there is lower than in seeding on channels.
